Seven Edits Weekly

Your Streamline Era: The Week of March 18th, 2024

Your Weekly Seven

Hey, you!

It’s been…a week. Severe storms and tornadoes tore through our small town and surrounding on Thursday and I’m still reeling from the anxiety. As some lost their homes and others lost their lives, it quickly became clear what matters, and what doesn’t. This is your sign to take stock and edit your life like it’s the only one you have.

This is your sign to take a few steps back from all the noise, breathe, and prioritize. Here are your top seven life edits for the week ~ one to tackle each day ~ so you’ll waste less time scrolling and more time L-I-V-I-N.

  • MONDAY BLUES: Mo Money, Less Problems

If you’re looking to save money without having to think, add Rakuten to your web browser. They’ll automatically send you a check every quarter for the money you save shopping online (even groceries count!). I've earned hundreds without trying. Seriously.

  • TUESDAY, YOUSDAY: Do You, Baby

Today is the day to make one personal goal for the year. Something only for you. Want to make healthier meals? Take a cooking class. Want to run a marathon? Find a beginner runner app. Want to release all the stress you carry? Commit to 30 days of somatic yoga. Want to learn German like my 12-year-old son? Sign up for Duolingo. Whatever you choose, this is your free pass to put yourself first for once.

  • LOVESICK WEDNESDAY: See? Romance Isn’t Dead (Yet)

Make a date with the dead! No, really! Cemeteries are my favorite places and a great place for an evening stroll with your honey. If you’re feeling adventurous, plan a visit to one of America’s best cemeteries and prepare to be amazed/haunted.

  • TAKE ACTION THURSDAY: Just Do It Already

When was the last time you washed your sheets? If you have to think about it, it’s been too long and it’s officially spring in less than 24 hours. Your only hard task today, for the love of all things — CLEAN YOUR BEDDING!

  • FRIDAY FEAST: No Complaints Dinner Picky Eaters Will Love

Out of everything I cook, this Hellman’s Parmesan Crusted Chicken is literally my kids’ favorite! We usually pair it with a baked potato and green beans, but this chicken is a winner no matter what you pair it with.

  • SATURDAZE: Do Something Fun, Would Ya?

Comedy never fails and we could all use a good laugh these days, so give this new Adam Newman special, Jew Versus the Volcano, a try. Warning: May elicit ugly laughing.

  • SUNDAY WISDOM: The Experts Says…

This week’s TLDR motivation: I wouldn’t normally do this, but if you haven’t already read my essay about navigating grief after my divorce and losing a friend to suicide, you can do so via PopSugar.

A tattoo that had newly reminded me to open my heart now represented a loss so deep that I lost all sense of hope, my new life, and myself.
